Urban Farming and Edible Landscaping
Community Supported Agriculture
Our
team runs a small Community Supported Agriculture program. Under this
initiative, we deliver a weekly basket of locally-grown, chemical-free produce
to Greater Vancouver households, from May through November. The basket
often includes fresh herbs and medicinal plants for winter teas. If
participating households were to purchase the equivalent quality and quantity
of herbs and veggies at a retail location, they would likely spend double that
amount!
Edible Landscaping
For
those interested in growing their own food and turning their yard into an edible
landscape, we can help with any of the design, building or maintenance steps of
the process. One has the option to start small with a pilot patch, and expand
the garden organically to best fit one’s needs, goals and sense of aesthetics.
Upon demand, the program may include workshops on topics such as edible garden
design, sowing, transplanting, crop rotation, crop sequence for a continuous
harvest, seed saving, canning, food preservation, and others. If interested,
give us a call and we can develop a customized program to suit your specific
interests.
